Installations
Following points should be considered carefully before
starting the installation of a larger system: To get a complete
impression of the environmental conditions at the places
of installation, technical drawings, plans, photos or videotapes
will be necessary. Optronik kindly asks for granting all corresponding
licenses, which might be required.
Regarding the places of installation we need technical
drawings as well as the permission for a local tour and
making photos and/or videos of the local situation.
Further requirements: Power supply 220 - 230 V NPE 50 Hz.
Other voltage (110 or other) on request. The necessary plug
contacts should be near the installation place. You need
an antistatic, free from aerosols, humidity and dust environment
to install and operate the system. At an environmental temperature
of more than 35°C is non appropriate neither to install
the components nor to use the system. The temperature to
operate the system should be around 22°C +/- 4°C.
Air-conditioning recommended. Relative air humidity: 10
% to 80 %, non-condensing.
Immediately after having placed the purchase order, the
customer sends technical drawings to Optronik, showing the
places of installation and stating the distances between
these places (measurement in m of cable). If necessary,
Optronik makes a local tour for checking the local conditions
and making photos / videos.
About 1 month after placement of order, the technical drawings
of the measuring system as well as a plan of the cables
will be handed over to the customer. The customer prepares
the foundations and supports for the installation of the
system. He also prepares the locations for the control rack
and the operation desk.
If necessary, a member of Optronik staff will check the preparations
ca. 3 4 weeks before beginning of the installation
(period for additional work). Referring to the information
on the cable lengths, Optronik GmbH delivers all cables for
signal, data and network on a cable drum or coil of cable.
It is recommended before starting the installation that
the preparations should be checked and inspected through
a member of Optronik at the customers premises. If this
should not be possible, please check that the preparation
is finished before the installation works are scheduled.
So please inform your contact person at Optronik GmbH in
time in case the preparations cannot be finished at the
date stipulated. Optronik GmbH will be at your disposal for
any kind of assistance and support.
Requirements: The supporting foundation for the goniometer:
The foundation must be solid and stable in order to ensure
a free-of-vibration operation of the goniometer or base
plate to install the light measuring device. All production
or laboratory facilities required for control rack, goniometer,
photometer head and preamplifier have to be available. The
customer installed necessary cable runs (e. g. cable tubes).
If a length meter counter should be needed, an adequate
trolley wheel for driving the counter must be available.
The customer names a contact person at the companys
technical department for installation support. Installation
of goniometer hardware, equipping the control rack, cable
manufacturing, connecting and putting into operation of
all components will be made by Optronik GmbH.

User Training
In case a larger goniophotometer system is installed, the
Optronik customer service performs extensive user training.
The duration and scope is stated in the quotation / contract.
This training includes hardware training, manual operation
of the system and its components as well as practical tests
(product conformity tests according to SAE and ECE and other
regulations if applicable) and a senior user training including
graphical options, data processing, storage, export function
and so on.
Optionally, there can be arranged a pre-acceptance, user
training at the manufacturers site prior shipment.
Additional user training can be arranged on request, e.g.
new software functions become available or new personnel
needs to be trained.

Maintenance contracts
During the warranty period, repair works are made by the
Optronik customer service free of charge. All performance
and operational abilities of the system only can be guaranteed
in the longer term if the whole system is maintained regularly
through Optronik or through the user himself in case he has
got an adequate training.
If the customer wants Optronik to do the service we recommend
a service contract with stipulated reaction time. The annual
fee depends on kind and scope of the system and will be
calculated in percent of its net list price. A service contract
becomes due after the guarantee expired. On request we will
submit you our quotation.
A routine maintenance includes all components of the system,
which are stipulated in the contract as well as the annual
calibration. Spare parts are calculated separately. The
software only can be maintained and updated if it is an
Optronik product and was installed on the PC according to
the Optronik prescriptions and if it is running under operation
system recommended by Optronik GmbH. Software extensions desired
by the customer are not subject of a software update and
are not subject of a maintenance contract. Foreign software
and its influence on Optronik products cannot be subject to
Optronik service.

ECE Test training in cooperation with accredited test
laboratory
Optionally, there can be performed a training in cooperation
with a test laboratory accredited according to ISO17025.
This training includes theory of ECE regulations, special
issues, new developments in standardization as well as practical
test with a goniophotometer system and related accessories.
This training can be optionally performed at the customers
site or at the Optronik facility in Berlin.

Test of conformity according to the recommendations
of the GTB
Optionally, there can be performed a conformity test according
to GTB photometry accuracy guideline in cooperation with
a test laboratory accredited according to ISO17025. When
performed on the installation place, there can be issued
a conformity certificate stating that the installation conforms
to the photometry accuracy guidelines of the GTB to perform
photometric test according to ECE regulations.

Calibration
The PTB and other regulations recommend checking the calibration
of photometers annually. Optronik offers bring-in calibrations
of photometers, spectrophotometers, power supplies. Such
calibrations are performed with PTB traceable calibration
sources on a photometer bench and DKD approved measurement
instruments tools such as multimeters. In addition, the
company also offers on-site calibration services for larger
systems performed right at the customers factory.
