SNT10 DC power supply
State-of-the-art choice for a reliable, high power DC supply

The SNT10 power supply is a precision tool developed to meet the needs of the automotive and vehicle industries in terms of accuracy, functionality, and user friendliness. The SNT10 has been designed to be used in laboratory environments in conjunction with photometric test equipment for high performance testing of vehicle and traffic lighting. Features include:

- 50 V, 20 A (for U< 18V) meeting the needs of today and tomorrow for testing and monitoring applications
  in the automotive and non-automotive industries (other versions available - see table below)
- Unique adjustment accuracy 1 mV, 1 mA (or 0.1 mA)
- Low ripple & noise
- High accuracy voltage and current programming and read back
- Constant voltage and constant current operation with automatic switch-over
- Full protection from overtemperature

- Special feature: The power supply has 5 channels allowing PC or manually controlled switchover between
  up to four light sources incorporated in a head or rear lamp assembly (fifth channel for connecting an integrating sphere)

  (ECE R6 requirement, SMS10s goniometer control unit required)
- Special feature: Operating HID equipped lamps without additional circuits

In the past few years, the electronic content of automobiles has been increasing at a fast rate, resulting in higher battery currents. Combine that with efforts to improve efficiency, and it is obvious that today's 12 V car battery is simply inadequate for the cars of the future. The trend is for higher voltage, which will lower the current, resulting in savings in the wiring harness and other components used in cars. 42 V is becoming standard voltage for the battery.

The new 42 V battery will have different requirements for duty cycle and total power capacity than the 12 V battery. Under the start/stop scenario of future vehicles, the number of starts and stops that the battery will endure could increase by a factor of more than 10. This loading puts more strain on the battery and other components used in the car. The Optronik power supply is ideal for simulating the battery under different loading conditions.

In addition, we offer SNT10 power supplies with higher adjustment resolution for current to be used in lower current applications (0.2 or 0.1 mA).

During the developmental phase, X-Rite Optronik power supplies undergo a battery of environmental tests. The power supplies are designed with built-in margin so that they can meet their specifications over time, under all conditions, and also withstand peak stress. Wide design margins and stringent environmental tests guarantee reliable products.
